Marilyn Urbani grew up in Las Vegas. She attended and was baptized in the Southern Baptist Faith. In August 1980, she married her husband Douglas, in Las Vegas. They moved to the Reno/Sparks area January 1981. As Doug’s religious background was in the Lutheran faith, they decided to look for a Lutheran church home and finally settled on Our Savior Lutheran Church. They were received into membership on December 25, 1987. Marilyn and Doug have two daughters, Sarah (husband Ken and son Mason) and Melissa (daughters Amelia and Lindi).

Marilyn is a 1998 graduate of Truckee Meadow Community College, with an AS degree in Business and an emphasis on Accounting. Her working career was in office administration. In 1992, she went to work for Washoe County Comptroller office, retiring in June 2015.

Mariln enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Free time is spent reading books and crafting projects, many of which her grandchildren join in the fun. She also enjoys quiet time and vacation adventures with her husband Doug.
